I have a complete set of Ping Eye (orange) clubs, irons:1-9, PW,SW, woods: 1,3,4,5. What are they worth?

cheryl_vicary asked:

I have been the sole owner since 1980 – they are actually older then my children! They are numbered and recorded at the Ping factory – I was able to replace the Pitching Wedge when I lost mine on a golf course many years ago. I want an honest appraisal of their value, as either a collectors item or for a golfer.

I’m not familiar with those but if you go to this website you’ll be able to get an assessment of their value. It’s as “official” as you’ll find anywhere.

  2. woods-$80.00 (cuz they r made out of wood), irons-$800 (good set of irons-hold resale value well, as good as any on the market)

    Im a PGA Professional! FUZZY

well i just somd my ping eye 2’s full iron set for 170, then the drivers will not be worth much because they are worthless in todays game, so 200 depending on condition proly less

Its tough to give a hard number.
It depends on the condition of the sets.
I would assume that only an older player/collector who misses playing with Eyes would be interested.

Try eBay if you want to go the auction route.
You can also do some research at the below site:

Having trouble determining a fair price for your clubs? Not sure what amount to bid? Our Golf Club BlueBook™ is the first and only, database driven, real-time used club price guide. Because our transactions take place between buyers and sellers, they are a good indicator of what the used club market will bare.

    Go to this website:

This will give you the value for the irons. But once you are at this site, you can probably check on the woods.

If you sell them on your own you should be able to get the value on this website.

    Good luck!

    Go to:

It has maximum, average, and low prices. I think you can sell them on the site also.

Iron set could be worth around $300 – $350 if you can sell it directly. The woulds could go for $20 piece, if in good condition. For reference check

But more likely you can get around $200 trade in value at a store. or sell the whole set for $250 on craigslist or the like. Pings are good cubs and will still be good clubs. However, there are tons of ping sets out there int he used market. Additionally serious golfers may want to replace the shafts and grips which would mean a few hundred xtra dollars for them.

Your best shot would be to find a beginning golfer looking for a set to get started.

I’d recommend posting the iron set on craigslist for $250, when people ask for discount don’t give the discount but throw in the woods and keep the price the same (that formula has worked at lest 10 times for on craigslist deals) .
