This question is really relative and to be quite honest, especially for irons, any of the major brands (ie, if you buy for 500+), your irons are comparable to others, it just depends on your skill level.
In my opinion, here it goes
irons – Taylormade (r7 TP’s), Titleist (AP1), and Mizuno
(MP67) are the best on the market
woods and drivers – Callaway (FT5 Tour), Titleist (D2), and
Taylormade (Tour Burner TP) are the best drivers
wedges – Hands down, Titleist.

Once again, I want to reitorate how relative this question is. The real money is in the shafts. Getting properly fit for a shaft can mean the difference of up to 30 yards and a consistant ball flight.

I am a little biast because I play all of this equipment that I am about to mention but it is because I believe in it and have hit many different manufacturers clubs.

Drivers: Taylormade, to me easily the best. Titleist is probably now the number 2, where Callaway used to dominate here, they have slipped a little.

Irons: Taylormade. Again I just love the look, feel, and playability of my irons and I think they have a wide variety. Ping, to me probably has the best “player improvement” irons that there are as well as some really good “better player” irons.

Wedges: Cleveland. You cant deny the success and the amount of these wedges in tour bags, if these guys play these wedges (and 100 and in is where they make the money) then they are good enough for me. But i also love the look and feel of the Cleveland wedges, they are so soft and provide great spin around the greens.

Fairway woods: personally i love the Adams RPM Low profile tour prototype

Irons: i have Adams tight lies tour irons, but can’t go wrong with ping (for forgiveness) or mizuno mp series(for the elite golfer)

Wedges: Vokey wedges are the best, but CG 10’s, and RAC tp’s are close second.

Out of the options you gave, i’d say this:

Irons:

(If your a low handicapper) – Mizuno – best forged blades

(Mid to high handicapper) Taylormade – best cavity backs

Drivers:
Taylormade – most options

Wedges:
(low handicapper) – Titleist – super high spin and control

(mid to high handicapper) – Cleveland – Best selection to price ratio and very good wedges

I say Mizuno on irons all the way. No question i will never hit another brand of irons. Taylor made makes the best woods, followed closely by Nike, but i say if TM were a 10 Nike is a 7 at best. Cleveland makes the best wedges by far, But i have never owned one. I say this having only hit them in stores. My titleist wedge is good, but it rusted after the third use. Mizunos are very consistent, and i have owned one, but they wear out quickly on the clubface. This leaves cleveland. I have nothing bad to say about them.

Callaway woods are great and still use both the great big bertha and war bird drivers. I like the warbird best because of its small face. For iron play I prefer Ping and still play the old ping eye 2’s. I have played the newer models, but still like the old ones. Callaway Irons are also very nice. My best friend plays them and his game is pretty consistent with them.
