Christmas gift suggestion please?
I’ve been talking to my current boyfriend for just over 3 months, and have been official for a month now. He’s a huge sports fan. He loves soccer and golf. A few weeks ago he mentioned something about his golf bag being almost complete, it was just missing a 3 wood and a wedge.
I know NOTHING about golf, except that its fun to play, and I went to Golfer’s Warehouse the other day to see what my possibilities were. According to the man there, he said most golfers are particular with their clubs and that my bf might want the same brand 3 wood as the clubs he already has…is that true? does it really matter? if not what would you recommend (callaway, titleist, cobra, ping, Taylormade, cleveland, Adams)?
Is that too much to give? his birthday is the day after xmas so i dont mind spending a lil extra…should i just give a gift that will be for both of us, like tickets to go snowboarding or some kind of dinner at a nice restaurant? He loves soccer, he coaches full time, should i get him an official jersey of his favorite player? a track jacket of his fav team??ugh i hate this…i’ve never had a boyfriend to buy anything for so i dont know what to do?? please lemme know what you think…any other suggestions??

Let him pick his own clubs. He has to be comfortable with the wight and feel of them. Something you can’t do for him.
But you could get him a round of golf for 2 at a nice local club.

in my opinion, i think that it would be a great idea to get him the three clubs that he is missing. play around and find out which clubs exactly he is missing and let his parents know you are going to get them for him so they don’t buy them first and surprise him. i am sure he would absolutely love that. something he loves, you support him in doing, that let’s a man know you care about him and his extracurricular activities.

My dads a golfer and all his clubs and his bag are callaway. He’s very particular about his clubs, as are a lot of golfers I know. So I would say no don’t just get him a club.
If you can’t think of anything else to get him maybe you could just include a gift receipt and if he doesn’t like it he can just exchange it for a new one. It will still seem thoughtful what you got him but then he’s not left with a gift he doesn’t like.
If he doesn’t have a jersey of his fav team get him that. I got my BFa Pittsburgh Steelers jersey the year they won the superbowl and he loved it!

An expensive gift like you suggest is too much for such a short relationship at this point and yes the golf store clerk was right. I would choose some simple stuff like a package of golf balls and tees maybe or a pair of golfer’s fingerless gloves if he doesn’t already have any or club covers if he doesn’t already have any. Let him choose his own clubs. The Soccer shirt would be good too. Small gifts are appropriate for a 3 month relationship. Track jacket is ok if it is an inexpensive windbreaker type. Don’t go over board, you might scare him off. If you have a camera, a nice framed picture of him coaching his team might be a nice gift. Or have him pose with his team, then blow it up to an 8×10 and buy a frame.

I have no idea how much golf clubs cost but if u want to spend that much go back to the store and talk to them tell them u want to give him the wedge and the other one butttttttt can he return them for his choice it they not what what he wants then give him one wrapped in xmas paper and one in bday paper or a team jacket would be grt too or a sweater hope this helps
