When you are playing a round of golf an important thing to remember is to clean your clubs.

Your wedges are especially prone to clogging up with dirt, soil and sand and as the wedge is grooved to provide spin if you let the groove fill up with dirt you will be losing one very important aspect of the wedge.

After each wedge shot you should get into the habit of wiping the club with a towel, which is hanging on your bag, right? But sometimes the crud gets in there and a wipe will not remove it so use a tee, get the point into the groove and scrape it out, then wipe with a towel.

There are special little wire brush devices that fold up and sit in your pocket but let the kids buy you one for your birthday, a tee does the job just as well.

David P asked:

I am approx an 18 handicap, trying to get better at the game. I carry Ping g10 irons 4i through gap wedge and added a Cleveland 56* wedge to my bag. I am getting a 21* hybrid instead of a 3i, and I plan on getting another 1 or 2 clubs. I was wondering what is better; another hybrid with a lower loft or a fairway wood??? Or one of each?? A hybrid would be easier to hit from a bad lie, so will I gain something by adding a 3 wood?
just to add to this, I do carry a driver and a putter also

Kansieo.com
